Taitlyn is an Exercise and Wellness Major at BYU with a career in nursing in her sights. This is Taitlyn’s second year with Project M.E.D.I.A. because she is passionate about what is being studied. She loves help people in any way she can, and has loved to see how research helps so many.

Jeremy is a Senior at BYU studying Psychology, and hoped to get his PhD in Clinical Psychology so he can teach and do research at a university. He loves being around kids so Project MEDIA is pretty much his dream college job. Other things he enjoys are sports, music, board games, and sleep.

Kassidy is a Junior at BYU studying Psychology with a minor in Family Life. She plans on pursuing a career in School Psychology so she can continue to help children and families throughout her life. She loves working with children, and is excited to spend the summer in Denver doing just that. When she is not working or going to school, Kassidy enjoys singing and writing, as well as being outdoors and spending time with her loved ones.

Kelly grew up in Indiana and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Boston, Massachusetts. She is studying Public Health with a minor in Family Life and will graduate in December of 2020. Kelly has taken a special interest in social determinants of health and loves connecting her public health studies with social research. After graduating from BYU, she plans to pursue a graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or Social Work. Kelly’s long-term aspiration is to be a university professor and social science researcher. She is grateful and excited to be a part of Project M.E.D.I.A!

Austin was raised in Portland, Oregon. He is a sophomore psychology major with a minor in global business and literacy. His favorite subfield of psychology is positive psychology, which studies happiness and well-being. He is thrilled to be participating in Project M.E.D.I.A. and is excited at the opportunity to take part in research that pushes the knowledge boundary. In his free time, Austin enjoys playing the guitar, going to concerts, hiking, fishing, and telling everyone how great the Pacific Northwest is.

Ollie is a senior from Richmond, Virginia, studying Psychology. She plans to pursue a graduate degree in Clinical Neuropsychology, and wants to use neuroimaging and neuropsychological testing to help diagnose and treat traumatic brain injuries and mental illness. She also loves running, reading, playing sports, and spending time with her family and friends. After a mission to Tahiti, she loves speaking French and Tahitian, and spending time at the beach and in the sun.

Haley is the third of six children from York, Pennsylvania. She is a sophomore majoring in family studies and minoring in statistics. Haley plans to earn her PhD in clinical psychology after graduating from BYU. She wants to become a therapist but still actively participate in research to help further the field of psychology. She loves to read and learn new things, do any and all outdoor activities, and spend time with friends!

Tyson is a senior studying Human Development and and is preparing for a graduate program in Marriage and Family Therapy. He is from the small town of Montesano, Washington, and is the oldest of six siblings. Tyson has experience in working with individuals and families in a variety of settings. These include working as a support for youth in foster care, teaching at the Provo Missionary Training Center, providing care for youth with autism, and being a teaching assistant at BYU. Tyson is grateful to build on these experiences by working with parents and children who are part of the Project MEDIA study. In his nonexistent free time, Tyson enjoys running, hiking, playing guitar, and spending time with family and friends.

Megan is a Junior at Brigham Young University studying Family Life with an emphasis in Human Development and double major in Portuguese. She is planning on pursuing a career in counseling because she loves helping others understand their situations and learn how to work through them. She loves children and is very interested in the topic of Project M.E.D.I.A, so she is thrilled to be a part of the team this year. Megan also loves to read, dance, sing, bake, craft, and be outdoors.

Jason is a 22 year old student in the School of Family life at BYU. He is the eldest of 4 brothers. He is from Buckeye, Arizona and before coming to BYU he ran cross country and track at a community college in Phoenix where he learned he loves learning about families. After college Jason hopes to go into marriage and family therapy to help families.

Kimberly is from Shelby, Montana. She is majoring in Psychology with a minor in statistics and plans on attending graduate school to become a clinical psychologist. Her goal is to help others live more mentally healthy lives. She loves to play any sport and spend time with friends and family.

Jeremy is a junior majoring in psychology. He grew up in Alpine, Utah his entire life yet lived in Orlando Florida for two years as a missionary. Jeremy believes that the most incredible thing in the universe is people and their lives. He desires to become a clinical psychologist or to specialize in marriage therapy in his graduate studies. He absolutely loves to tell jokes and be outside exploring in nature. He loves to follow sports especially the Utah Jazz and his college sports programs as well.

Matthew Siufanua hails from Payson Utah and is currently studying psychology and statistics. His goal is to become a therapist in order to help other people reach their full potential. In conjunction with meeting new friends, he loves to read, hike, and cook. Matthew is also very excited to live in Denver Colorado to help contribute to this great research project.

Alice Wang is a junior majoring in psychology and minoring in business. She is working hard to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology with the hope to help racial minorities receive suitable help when struggling with mental health problems. She calls both Shanghai, China and Vancouver, Canada to be her homes and she is thankful for the ability to help more people because of her unique identity. She loves reading, teaching, watching movies, and cooking.
