Denver RAHaley is the third of six children from York, Pennsylvania. She is a sophomore majoring in family studies and minoring in statistics. Haley plans to earn her PhD in clinical psychology after graduating from BYU. She wants to become a therapist but still actively participate in research to help further the field of psychology. She loves to read and learn new things, do any and all outdoor activities, and spend time with friends!
Denver RAMatthew Siufanua hails from Payson Utah and is currently studying psychology and statistics. His goal is to become a therapist in order to help other people reach their full potential. In conjunction with meeting new friends, he loves to read, hike, and cook. Matthew is also very excited to live in Denver Colorado to help contribute to this great research project.
Jessa is happily married and studying Family Life and Human Development with plans to become a Certified Family Life Educator after graduating from BYU and taking time off to have her own children and raise them as a stay-at-home and homeschooling momma. She wants to help parents understand how to best discern and meet the needs of their children. As someone who has always enjoyed learning through observation, Jessa is thrilled to be part of Project M.E.D.I.A. to see how observation can lead people to discover what influences their children's lives.
Jennie grew up in a small town in Wisconsin. She served a church mission in South Texas, where she gained a love for good Mexican food and Spanish. She is a junior majoring in Sociology and minoring in Spanish. In her free time, Jennie loves to cook/bake, read, hike, play board games, and paint. She is so excited to interact with the kids and help with the research taking place in Project MEDIA!
Lyndsey is a senior majoring in family studies. She is originally from Centerville, Utah, and served her church mission in Sweden. Lyndsey plans to get her master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and pursue a career in therapy. She also enjoys participating in research and is looking forward to working in Denver and contributing to Project MEDIA!
Zack grew up in rural Winnemucca, Nevada. He is studying Psychology and Economics and plans to go onto graduate school studying some combination of the two. Behavioral Economics is of particular interest to him because it’s the perfect combination of using Psychology to better understand Economics. Since he grew up with five younger siblings and has tons of experience with children, Zack is very excited to have the opportunity to participate in Project M.E.D.I.A. this summer.
Jothan is a junior studying Psychology from Ogden, Utah. He plans on pursuing a career in clinical psychology to help those dealing with mental health issues. Jothan loves meeting and working with new people. He is excited to work with Project M.E.D.I.A. to help accomplish their goals. In his free time he likes to mountain bike, hike, cook, and explore the national parks.
Annie Johnson is from Houston, Texas studying at BYU. She is a junior in the School of Family Life program in order to pursue a career in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has a passion for connecting with people and believes that each person is truly a gift to this world. Annie loves to boulder, hike, play board/card games, paint, and do it all with friends and family.
Serena is a Senior at BYU studying Psychology and Spanish. She is from Phoenix, Arizona, and though she is used to the 115° weather, she also loves the winter. After graduation she plans on pursuing a masters degree in Educational Psychology. Her ultimate career goal is to work with children and families of varying cultural backgrounds as they work towards their academic and future goals. She is super excited to be a part of Project MEDIA. In her free time Serena loves to read long novels, make cookies, play pickleball, spend time with her nieces and nephews, and go on adventures with her friends.
Nicole is a senior studying human development. Her plan is to become a marriage family therapist or go into the field of social work hoping to help families unite and become stronger. Nicole loves working with children which probably stems from growing up with five siblings. She grew up in the Bay Area of California and lived in Hawaii for two years. Nicole loves to be outside, be with her family and friends, and explore the world around her.
Peyton grew up in Palmer, Alaska. She is a senior studying psychology and will graduate in December of 2021. Her professional interests include helping children thrive and live healthy lives, and she plans to further her education and pursue these interests by obtaining a graduate degree in School Psychology. Her personal interests include running, hiking, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Peyton is excited to gain a deeper understanding about children’s development through Project MEDIA.
Maricielo Saldarriaga is a senior studying Psychology. She plans to earn her PhD in Clinical Psychology after graduating from BYU. Maricielo is passionate to learn about different cultures, and she believes that everyone can change if they receive help from the right person. She is excited to be part of Project M.E.D.I.A this year. In her free time, she loves to watch documentaries and spend time with her friends.
Belinda is a sophomore at BYU, majoring in psychology and minoring in statistics. She is from Denver, Colorado (Parker), so she is super excited to be doing such important research so close to home! She is passionate about helping people and enjoying life to the fullest. She plans to get a PhD in clinical psychology after graduating from BYU in a couple years. Belinda loves BYU, movies, Colorado, baking and cooking, chocolate, photography, and sleep!
Jake is studying neuroscience at BYU. He joined project MEDIA because he loves working with people, especially families and children. He hopes to pursue a career in neurology or pediatrics. He spends a lot of his freetime outdoors, but he also loves to cook and is always willing to try something new.
Joseph is a Junior from Twin Falls, Idaho. His goal is to become a developmental psychologist and research how to help youth develop positively. He comes from a large family with 8 siblings and 13 nieces and nephews who he loves to play with. Joseph also enjoys reading, walking, having good conversation, and making new friends.
Anna is a junior studying Psychology and is from Bear Lake, Idaho. She plans on getting her master’s and PhD in Clinical and Social Psychology so she can pursue her career goals of being a professor, research scientist, and therapist. She is particularly interested in studying empathy and emotional intelligence and can’t wait to see how they work with the research taking place at Project M.E.D.I.A.! Some of her hobbies include crocheting blankets, working out, reading, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends.
